Oktoberfest and Other Festivals
Germany boasts an impressive selection of vibrant cities, where aspirational skyscrapers sit side-by-side with iconic reminders of the country’s turbulent past. A visit to any of Germany’s cities will definitely enhance your car rental experience. Germany’s capital, the once divided Berlin, today stands tall as a multi-cultural melting pot and is famous for its thriving arts and cultural scene. Remains of the famous Berlin Wall and the Brandenburg Gate still draw in the tourists but the city is also gaining a reputation as a top destination for shopping trips.
Germany’s cities play host to a number of colourful festivals and trade fairs throughout the calendar year. Munich, the Bavarian capital remains one of Europe’s top city break destinations, due in no small part to its world-famous Oktoberfest. Meanwhile, Germany’s fourth largest city, Cologne is renowned for its Christopher-Street Day Parade and annual carnival. The cities of Dresden and Heidelberg are much underestimated in terms of cultural attractions and are definitely worth a visit.
